 Full
day tour of the Magao Caves, the oldest Buddhist shrines
in China. These ancient hand-carved shrines are a national
treasure and represent a thousand years of devotion to
Buddha between the 2nd and12th C. We then take an overnight
train to the oasis of Turpan, which lies in one of the
world? great land depressions, 505 feet below sea level.
Turpan was the most important city of the Middle Ancient

Turpan Full day tour to include Gaochang, the Flaming
Mountain and the Bezkilik Thousand Buddha caves followed
by Jiaohe, the Emin Tower and the famous Karez System.
Evening, we get time to visit the oasis town and meet

Turpan - Urumqi - Kashgar |

Morning depart for Urumqi, capital of the Xinjiang
Uyghur Autonomous Region which is situated at the northern
foot of the snow-capped Tianshan Mountains. Our Urumqi
tour includes the Museum of National Minorities and
History housing the bodies from Turpan Astana tombs,
the Ardaoqiao Market, a covered street of food &
textile stalls. Later we take our short flight to Kashgar.

Our tour of Kashgar includes the Id Kah Mosque, built
in 1442, the Abakh Hoja Tomb, and Kashgar, finest piece
of Islamic architecture. We also se its green tiled
dome which is the centerpiece of a burial complex wherein
lie 72 bodies from five generations of the same noble
Uyghur family. When it was built, no one can agree.
Opinions range from 1640 to the late 18th century. Its
first occupant was a Muslim missionary called Yusuf
Hoja, but it named after his more famous son, Abakh
Hoja or Abkhoja, who became leader of a local Islamic
sect and in some accounts ruler of Kashgar, and died
in 1693. After lunch we will leave from Kashgar to Urumqi
then say good bye to Xinjiang finish our short tour
to Silk Road . |

Visit the Lake of Heaven, after dinner take the
flight to Kashgar.The Heavenly Lake: The lake is 1900
meters above the sea level. It is particularly refreshing
for travelers arriving in Urumqi from the barren deserts
in Xinjiang. |

Morning visit Abakh Khoja Tomb, the Idkar Mosque a nd
ancient city.
- The Abakh Khoja Tomb: The tomb served as the family
tomb of Abakh Khoja, the powerful ruler of Kashgar in
the 17th century who was revered as a prophet and second
only to Mohammed.
- The Idigar Mosque: The mosque was built in 1426. It
is the largest mosque in Xinjiang and the centre of
the Moslem activities, as well.

Visit the Sunday bazaar, after dinner take the
flight to Urumqi.
- Sunday bazaar: Bazaar means farm trade market in
Uygur. The Bazzar in Kashgar is the biggest one in Xinjiang.
