Arrival Beijing, capital of China, transfer to our deluxe
hotel in
the center of the city. This afternoon our guide will
take us for a walking tour of the Tiananmen Square, the
Great Hall of Parliament, and Chairman Mao Mausoleum,
and The Forbidden City. Tonight enjoy a warm welcome dinner
in a traditional restaurant. (L, D)

Our first visit today is at the Temple of Heaven built
in 1420. Its triple-layered marble terrace, dragon-phoenix
ceiling and a circular roof painted in deep blue, topoped
with a large gold knob, is a perfect example of Ming architecture.
After lunch in a garden restaurant with unique story telling
dishes of 'Dream of Red Mansions', journeying by a boat
ride on the ancient waterways of Beijing, passing numerous
bridges and historical monuments to The Summer Palace,
a grand and sensual palace complex set on the beautiful
Kunming Lake, dotted with dozens of halls, pavilions and
temples. Our guide will escort you through the wonderful
'Long Corridor' and describe its artistic history.
This evening we will sample an imperial banquet set in
a glamorous restaurant. (B, L, D)

Today our guide will take us outside of Beijing to the
Western
Qing Tombs. This fascinating collection of tombs of
over seventy emperors, queens and imperial concubines
of the Qing Dynasty, nestle on a huge lush plain, is
one of the most comprenhensive and unique imperial tomb
architectural ensembles in China. We will be invited
into a number of underground palaces, to view the exquisitely
carved coffins and precious funeral objects.
Later, embark on a torchlight tour of a mysterious
groups of ancient caves in a remote village.4-star service

This morning, as the sun rise gradually over The Great
Wall, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel courtyard
and soak up plenty of atmosphere! Walk along the Wall
at your own pace, admiring the panoramic views it offers.
Later today returns to Beijing and check into our hotel.
The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure.
Tonight, a cultural performance (Peking Opera or Acrobatics
Show) will be arranged for those who are interested,
with a visit to the magic backstage! (B)

This morning we will enter the Imperial College. Built
in 1306, as the highest national academy, it's decorated
walls, sandalwood tables carved with dragon in clouds,
and stone steles inscribed with the names of every successful
candidates who passed the highest rank of imperial examination
spanning over 600 years, truely reflects the spirit
of education in feudal China. Take a rickshaw ride along
Beijing's cobblestone lanes of Hutongs. During the rickshaw
tour, we'll make several stops to visit the Prince Gong's
Mansion, a traditional Opera House which is closed to
the general public, and the Drum Tower. The remainder
of the afternoon is left open to meander through a local
market — the best place to stock up antiques,
fine ceramics, and other inspiring merchandises.
This evening we will sample a mutton hot pot dinner
in a traditional restaurant. (B, L, D)
